Charles
Fleming started his career in the
electronics industry. After a short spell working in Libya he
specialized in television broadcast engineering and had the opportunity
to work in many parts of the world. He then set up his own
consultancy providing engineering and management services for television
studio installation contracts.
Looking for a change of environment
Charles and his wife set off to travel through Africa on their motorbike
and, after the journey of a lifetime, resettled in the Dordogne
developing holiday cottages. It soon became clear that holiday rentals
was not going to support a growing family and Charles started Hautefort
Renovation which has kept him busy since.

Hautefort Renovation was set up in 1992 and soon found its feet
carrying out a large number of property
renovations and refurbishments, barn and loft conversions as well as
new constructions to date. The company offers a complete
renovation and construction service with all trades in house and has
always concentrated on providing a professional service at a competitive
